Radical Bible Study Information

We are starting a church wide Bible study on Sunday nights starting June 27^th. This study will last until September 5^th and will be held in the homes of church members.

 

The Radical bible study replaces the regular Sunday evening (6:30pm) service. Sunday evening services will resume on September 12^th.

David is one of the youngest Ph.d's in the history of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was the Dean of the Chapel at the New Orleans Seminary, which meant that he preached every week to the professors and students, at which time he was only 25 years old. When he was 28 years old, the Church at Brook Hills, a 4,000 member church in Birmingham, called David to be their Senior Pastor. He is believed to be the youngest megachurch pastor ever. He is known for his passion for missions and his unbelievable ability to quote large passages of Scripture. David and his wife Heather have 2 children (one of which was adopted from Kazakhstan) and are in the process of adopting another child, a girl from Nepal.

 

In 2006 or 2007, David lead his church to start a program called Secret Church. His hope in this event was to show his members how believers in closed countries had to worship - by preaching for 6 hrs from 6pm-Midnight. He was surprised to see over 1,000 people attend the first Secret Church. Attendance has grown to the point that Brook Hills now has to sell tickets to guarantee seating even with overflow space. Today, Secret Church happens twice a year with thousands of people attending, which includes members of other churches who drive several hours for the event.
