Mission Committee

The Missions Committee at SCBC is seeking to be obedient to Acts 1:8. We are to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the remotest parts of the earth. SCBC is a Global Priority Church because we partner with International Mission Board missionaries All SCBC members have opportunities to be a part of the missions programs by praying, giving, and by going. All three of these parts are key to the success of the missions program. Those interested in going may contact the Church Office or anyone on the Missions Committee for available trip information. Training is made available to assist volunteers in areas such as Cross Cultural training, preparation for mission trips and Emergency Response Training. Be blessed – pray, give, and go!!

 

The goal of the Mission Committee is to be obedient to the Lord. As Jesus commanded the disciples: “Go ye therefore , and teach all nations…” Matthew 28:19a.

 

We seek to do this through local missions, missions in our region, missions across North America and missions throughout the World. The Mission Committee at Swift Creek Baptist Church is responsible for monitoring Mission programs that the church has decided to support.

 

In addition we recommend the addition on new ministries to support and to drop ministries that seem to fall outside the area the church desires to support. We schedule mission trips for people of all ages who are willing to meet the needs of the laborers on the field.

 

Using at least 15% of the total giving is a goal that Swift Creek has maintained throughout the years to support ministries and missionaries not including special Southern Baptist offerings.
