Jesus said “The time is coming, and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Our Goal

The goal of the Music and Worship Ministry of Swift Creek Baptist Church is for every worship service to become an encounter with God, worshiping Him in Spirit and Truth. When we meet together and the environment is one of worship that honors God and lifts up Jesus, we believe that He will be there to do the work that only He can do. The New Covenant Choir and Orchestra work hard each week to prepare music that will help us to do that. Our desire is to be much more than singers and musicians, we want to be worship leaders. And to be a worship leader one must first be a worshiper. Our prayer is that God would develop within each one of us the heart of a worshiper. Style

Our services could be categorized as a “blended” style, typically weaving an updated version of a powerful hymn into the flow of more contemporary songs that focus the worshiper’s attention on the Lord Jesus, the heavenly Father, or an attribute of His character.

The New Covenant Choir

The New Covenant Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7:30 until 9:00 in the music suite. There is no audition required for membership, only a love for the Lord, and a desire to sing to Him in worship.

The Orchestra

The orchestra rehearses Wednesday as well, from 6:30 until 7:30 in the worship center. There is no audition for the orchestra but there is an expectation of being able to read the part for your instrument, and to play in tune with others. If you played in the band or orchestra in high school or college, you are highly encouraged to dust off the old instrument and join us in rehearsal soon.

Little Praisers and Kingdom Kids

We currently have two graded children’s choirs. Both groups sing regularly in our Sunday evening services, and occasionally sing in the Sunday morning services. The “Little Praisers” choir is for age 4 through the first grade and meets Sundays at 6:30 PM in room 116.

The “Kingdom Kids”, for grades 2 through 6 also meet Sundays at 6:30 PM in the choir suite. This group is featured on the CD “The Glory of Christmas” recorded by the New Covenant Choir in the fall of 2006.
